Thane Corruption News : Serious Corruption Scandal Rocks Thane Municipal Transport Service; Employees Threaten Protests

Thane, Maharashtra — A major corruption scandal has recently come to light within the Thane Municipal Transport Service, exposing alleged irregularities in contracts awarded to a private company, GA Digital Web Word Pvt. Ltd.. Reports suggest that the contract was only partially honored by the corporation, raising suspicion of close ties between municipal officials and the contractor. Thane Breaking News

The decision, taken by Transport Manager Bhalchandra Behere without transparency, has sparked serious doubts regarding collusion. As a result, nearly 600 employees have been directly affected financially, with widespread anger spreading among the workforce. Employee unions have now united and are preparing for large-scale protests.

Meanwhile, transport officials are attempting to shift blame onto the company, while the contractor insists that the municipality itself is responsible for the alleged financial misconduct.

Unions and labor leaders are demanding:

Immediate suspension of all officials and staff involved in the corruption.

Blacklisting of GA Digital Web Word Pvt. Ltd. for repeated violations and lack of transparency, with strict orders to bar it from future contracts.

Payment of pending salaries, allowances, and PF dues to employees without further delay.

Criminal proceedings under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Sections 316(2), (5), and 318(4), as well as the Payment of Wages Act / Code on Wages, 2019, and the Minimum Wages Act, against company owner Garima Arora and officials Dnyaneshwar Indulkar and Mahesh Paste.

The issue was brought to light by Vivek Rajendra Jagtap, General Secretary of the BJP Maharashtra Film and Labor Front, who has vowed to intensify the agitation and ensure the company is permanently blacklisted. He further declared that criminal complaints would be filed against the company owners and officials for employee fraud, wage withholding, and deception.

The controversy comes at a sensitive time, coinciding with the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, raising fears of law-and-order disturbances in the city.

Unions have demanded an immediate, thorough investigation and strict action against both municipal officials and the contractor. They have also warned that if the matter is ignored, protests will escalate further, and full responsibility will fall on the Thane Municipal Corporation and the Maharashtra state government.
