The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has conducted raids in Pune for the last two days at locations related to operators and subsidiaries of Mahadev App, Lotus 365. There has been a stir due to raids on betting apps in Pune.
Around Rs 1.2 crore in cash, documents, UPI IDs, account books and other digital evidence related to betting IDs have been recovered in the operation by the ED. ED officials also recorded statements of panel operators and concerned associates.
Earlier, ED arrested hawala operator Girish Talreja from Bhopal. Talreja is one of the promoters of Lotus 365 and is believed to be a close associate of accused Saurabh Chandrakar, Ravi Uppal and Subham Soni.
Through several shell companies and hawala operators, profits from betting funds were diverted to the app’s Dubai office account. Mahadev was in touch with Talreja to launder the betting money, along with several associates of the app and subsidiary panel operators.
